BookCon 2026 Recap: My Sold-Out Weekend at the Javits Center

This past weekend at Javits Center in New York City was nothing short of unforgettable. Going into BookCon, I truly didn’t know what to expect. What unfolded over the course of the weekend exceeded anything I could have imagined.

The Numbers Tell the Story

• Day One (by noon): 28 books sold

• Day Two (by noon): Completely SOLD OUT

• Team on site: April, Sarah, Laura, and Jen

• Foot traffic: Constant, high-energy, and deeply engaged

From the moment the doors opened, the momentum was real. Foot traffic was incredible, but what stood out even more was the eagerness of attendees. Readers weren’t just browsing, they were excited, curious, and genuinely ready to discover something new.

One of the most meaningful parts of the experience was the connection. I loved talking with each and every person who stopped by the booth, and so did my team. Those conversations, the questions, the excitement about the GwenSeven Saga, that’s what this is all about. To everyone who showed interest in the series and chose to join this journey, thank you. Truly. It means more than I can put into words.

For those who may not know, BookCon is a large-scale, fan-focused literary event produced by ReedPop, the powerhouse behind major pop culture conventions across the country. Hosted at the Javits Center, it brings together bestselling authors, emerging voices, publishers, and thousands of passionate readers for a weekend of panels, signings, and discovery.

Having worked with ReedPop for the past 15 years as part of their Comic Con family of events, it’s been incredibly special to grow alongside these conventions and be part of a community that continues to evolve and expand.

What’s Next...

Selling out by midday on Day Two was surreal, and if there’s one takeaway, it’s this: next year, we’re coming back bigger. More books. More inventory. More opportunities for every single person who visits the booth to walk away with a new addition to their TBR stack.

The excitement to return next year is already building, and I cannot wait to do it all again.
