There’s something special about walking into a bookstore and getting completely lost among the shelves. Long before I became an author, I was the person wandering the sci-fi and fantasy section searching for the next world to disappear into, whether it was for a quiet weekend by the pool, a long flight while traveling, or late nights curled up with a story I couldn’t put down.
That’s part of why I’m especially excited to be returning home to Southern California this weekend for two appearances at Barnes & Noble Outlets at Orange and Huntington Beach locations to celebrate The GwenSeven Saga with readers like you.
Sci-Fi Fantasy Author Visits OC Barnes & Noble Locations
Saturday, May 30 | 5 PM – 7 PM
Located at the Outlets at Orange, this store is a perfect stop for readers looking to browse new books, discover fantasy and science fiction titles, and spend an afternoon exploring one of my favorite kinds of places: bookstores filled with stories waiting to be found.
Sunday, May 31 | 1 PM – 4 PM
The Huntington Beach location has such a classic Southern California atmosphere, making it the perfect place to stop in after a beach morning or weekend outing and pick up your next read for summer.
As a Southern California native, coming back home for events like these always feels meaningful to me, especially getting the chance to connect with readers who love sci-fi fantasy as much as I do.
Your next summer series read awaits...
The GwenSeven Saga is perfect for readers searching for a completed fantasy series or completed sci-fi fantasy books. A great comparison would be books like Fourth Wing and Red Rising featuring strong female leads and a space opera series. You'll definitely find it to be a binge-worthy fantasy series.
The GwenSeven Saga is a completed nine-book science fantasy series blending cyborganic dragons, artificial intelligence, intergalactic war, romance, loyalty, sacrifice, and morally complex characters across the moons of Jupiter.

The series begins with Drawing the Dragon. Set in the year 3988, Drawing the Dragon follows elite pilots known as Jordans who bond with ancient dragons rebuilt with cybernetics and transformed into sentient living starships. As artificial humans known as the Chimera rise in rebellion, three pilots find themselves questioning everything they’ve been taught about war, loyalty, freedom, and identity.
At its heart, the story explores found family, sacrifice, the emotional cost of war, and what it means to remain human in a universe built on engineered life.
You May Even See Me Browsing the Shelves
Even now, one of my favorite things to do is wander through bookstores looking for my next read. There’s something timeless about discovering a book in person, picking it up off the shelf, reading the back cover, and feeling that instant pull into another world.
Whether you’re looking for your next completed fantasy binge, a signed copy for summer reading, or simply an excuse to spend some time wandering the sci-fi fantasy shelves, I’d love to see you this weekend at Barnes & Noble in Orange County!
